The Titular Feast of St Lawrence was celebrated with deep faith and joy at St Lawrence Minor Basilica, Attur-Karkala, on 10 August 2025. The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, along with several concelebrating priests. The liturgy was enriched by a meaningful homily delivered by Rev. Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza, OFMCap, which inspired the congregation to live their faith with renewed zeal.
Following the Mass, Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo blessed the foundation stone of the new altar of the Basilica. This was followed by the St Lawrence Novena and the blessing of the relic of St Lawrence. In a spirit of gratitude, the Rector of the Basilica, V. Rev. Fr Alban D’Souza, expressed heartfelt thanks to all donors and sponsors who supported the feast. The Bishop then distributed candles to the donors and extended his warm festal greetings to the Rector, the clergy, and all parishioners, marking the celebration as a day of grace and communal joy.
