The 22nd Annual Governing Body Meeting of the CRI – Udupi Unit was held on 9th August 2025 at St Cecily’s Convent Campus, Udupi. Nearly 70 Fathers, Sisters, and Brothers participated.
The event was graced by Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi, V. Rev. Fr. Joe Tauro OCD Episcopal Vicar for Religious, and the Executive Body. The Kundapur Zone led the prayer service, followed by the lighting of the lamp and a bhajan on Christ the Light.
President Rev. Fr Arvind Severes SDB welcomed all, greeting the Bishop on Jubilee of Priests and felicitating the newly appointed Episcopal Vicar. New community leaders and members were introduced by Sr. Udaya SRA, and Rev. Fr Royal Fernandes SDB brought a joyful moment with an action song.
In his keynote, Bishop Lobo reflected on the prophetic role of Religious in the Church, based on the Final Document of Synod 2021-2024. The Episcopal Vicar urged Religious to deepen their union with Christ. The President presented highlights from the KRCR General Assembly and the annual plan for 2025–26.
Vice President Sr Janet Rego SSpS proposed the vote of thanks, and the AC Sisters’ Community hosted the gathering with warm hospitality. Sr Anitha D’Souza UFS served as MC.
