Kerekatte, June 13, 2025 – The Titular Feast of St Antony at the Kerekatte Shrineat Kerekatte was celebrated with joy and deep devotion. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, presided as the main celebrant, guiding hundreds of faithful through a solemn Mass.
Among those concelebrating were Msgr Ferdinand Gonslaves, Vicar General, V. Rev. Fr Stephen D’Souza Chancellor, V. Rev. Fr Sunil Veigas, Rector of the Shrine,, V. Rev. Fr Paul Rego, Dean of Kundapur Deanery, along with priests from Kundapur and surrounding parishes. Rev. Fr Viresh Victor Moras, PRO of Shivamogga Diocese, delivered a heartfelt homily, urging participants to embody St Antony’s spirit of humility and compassion in their daily lives.
V. Rev. Fr Sunil Veigas expressed sincere gratitude to all donors and volunteers, acknowledging their vital role in sustaining the shrine’s activities and forward projects.
Following the Mass, the novena was led by the Bishop. During his festal address, Bishop extended festal greetings and also made a compelling appeal to the congregation to support the construction of the St Antony’s Destitute Home—an initiative intended to become a haven for those in need.
The celebration concluded on a warm, communal note as devotees shared a lovingly prepared meal, reinforcing fellowship and celebrating their collective faith and service.
