Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese inaugurated the golden jubilee year of ICYM Udyavar unit at St Francis Xavier Church, Udyavar on 19th January, 2020.
Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo celebrated the holy Eucharist along with V. Rev. Stany B. Lobo, Parish Priest of Udyavar Parish; Rev. Fr Fredrick D’Souza, Parish Priest of Manipal Parish; Rev. Fr Rolwin Aranha, Asst. Parish Priest of Udyavar Parish; Rev. Fr Henry Fernandes, Former Parish Priest; Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto, Director of Sampada; Rev. Fr Royson Fernandes, Editor of Uzvaad; Rev. Fr Ronson D’Souza, Parish Priest of Katapadi Parish; Rev. Fr Steevan Fernandes, Asst. Parish Priest of Udupi Parish. Rev. Fr Royson Fernandes preached a meaningful homily.
Soon after the mass stage programme was held at church premises. The programme started with a prayer son sang by ICYM members of Udyavar. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo; Mrs Margaret Alva, Ex-governor of Uttarakhand; Mr Nivedith Alva; V. Rev. Fr Stany B. Lobo, Parish Priest of Udyavar Parish; Rev. Fr Henry Fernandes, Former Parish Priest; V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca, Dean of Udupi Deanery; Mr Jaison Pereira, President of ICYM Udupi Diocese; Melwyn Noronha, Vice-president of Parish Pastoral Council of Udyavar Parish; Mr Vinay Kumar Sorake, Former MLA of Kaup Constituency; Mr Lalaji Mendon, MLA of Kaup Constituency and others were present on the dais.
V. Rev. Fr Stany B. Lobo gave the keynote address. Mrs Margaret Alva inaugurated the jubilee year by lighting the lamp with the dignitaries. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo released balloons in the air with the dignitaries.
Present and former ICYM presidents and the secretaries, Former parish Priests, Donors were felicitated on this occasion.
Mrs Margaret Alva, Rev. Fr Henry Fernandes, Mr Nivedith Alva, Mr Vinay Kumar Sorake, Mr Lalaji Mendon, V. Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca, Mr Jaison Pereira and Most Rev. Gerald Isaac Lobo addressed the gathering.
Mr Michael D’Souza welcomed the gathering and Mrs Dora Arouza proposed vote of thanks. Mr Anzil Andrade and Ms Jane Cardoza compered the programme.
