The faithful of St Lawrence Church, Attur, relatives, and friends of V. Rev. Fr Alban D’Souza gathered together for a Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of Priesthood on April 7th, 2024.
V. Rev. Fr Alban D’Souza, Rector of St Lawrence Minor Basilica, presided over the Holy Eucharist along with V. Rev. Dr Roshan D’Souza, Chancellor of Udupi Diocese; V. Rev. Fr Paul Rego, Dean of Karkal Deanery; Rev. Fr Larry Pinto, Asst. Parish Priest of St Lawrence Church Attur; Rev. Fr Roman Mascarenhas, Spiritual Director of St Lawrence Basilica Attur; and other guest priests. V. Rev. Dr Roshan D’Souza delivered the Word of God and preached the homily.
Later, a felicitation program was organized by the parishioners to make this event memorable. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese; V. Rev. Fr Alban D’Souza; V. Rev. Fr Paul Rego, Dean of Karkal Deanery; Rev. Fr Antony Lasrado, Parish Priest of Nithyadar Nagar, Mangaluru; Rev. Fr Joseph Martis, Parish Priest of Derebail Church, Mangaluru; Sr Hilda D’Souza, Maternal Aunt of V. Rev. Fr Alban D’Souza; Mr Mathew D’Souza, Brother of V. Rev. Fr Alban; and Mr Santhosh D’Silva, Vice-President of Parish Pastoral Council of Attur parish were present on the dais.
V. Rev. Fr Alban D’Souza cut the cake with the dignitaries. Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis raised the toast and wished good health and happiness to Rev. Fr Alban D’Souza. Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo congratulated Rev. Fr Alban and felicitated him on behalf of the Diocese of Udupi.
V. Rev. Fr Alban expressed his feelings and thanked God for the precious gift of life and for the gift of 25 years of Priesthood. He also thanked God for the blessings he received from his loving family, friends, relatives, and all those who supported and helped to make this program memorable. It was a day filled with feelings of gratitude, happiness, and joy. The presence and participation of the parishioners, relatives, and friends were commendable.
Mr Santhosh D’Silva welcomed the gathering and Mrs Lavita Almeida proposed the vote of thanks. Mr Melwin Castelino and Mrs Jyothi D’Souza compered the program. The program was followed by the Fellowship meal.
