The Bishop of Udupi, Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo was on a Pastoral Visit to St. Peter Church, Pethri on 20th & 21st January, 2023. Rev. Fr Victor D’Souza, the Parish Priest of Pethri and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to the Bishop.
After the preliminary rites, the Bishop visited the cemetery and conducted the prayer service. Later the Bishop had a Catechism session for the Confirmation Candidates. Then He interacted with the Parish Pastoral Council, 20 Commission animators, Coordinator and Parish Finance Council members.
On 21st January, the Confirmation Mass was celebrated with great joy. 9 candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation. In his homily, the Bishop spoke on the upcoming Jubilee 2025 and how we can prepare ourselves for the meaningful celebration of the same.
After the Mass, the Bishop had a series of meetings with several groups, viz.; Altar boys, Missionary Children’s Society, ICYM, YCS, Catholic Sabha, SVP, Sthree Sanghatan; He paid visit to the sick and then he attended the Small Christian Community meeting in one of the wards. The Pastoral Visit concluded on Sunday 21st with a Prayer Service.
