The Bishop of Udupi, Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo was on a Pastoral Visit to Stella Maris Church, Kalmady on 13th & 14th January, 2024. Rev. Fr (Dr) Baptist Menezes, the Parish Priest of Kalmady and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to the Bishop.
After the preliminary rites in the Church, the Bishop visited the cemetery and conducted a prayer service. The Bishop had a session on Catechism for the Confirmation Candidates. Then He interacted with the ICYM, YCS, Parish Pastoral council and Parish Finance Council members.
On 14th January, the Confirmation Mass was celebrated with great joy. 22 youth received the Sacrament of Confirmation. In his homily, the bishop spoke on the upcoming Jubilee 2025 and how to prepare for the same in the year 2024.
After the Mass, the Bishop had series of meetings with several pastoral Associations, viz.; Altar boys, Missionary Children’s Society, 20 Commissions’ animators, Coordinator, Catholic Sabha; SVP, Sthree Sanghatan;Later he paid visit to a few sick persons and attended the Small Christian Community meeting in one of the wards. The Pastoral Visit concluded on Sunday 14th with a Prayer Service.
