Udupi Diocesan unit of the Prison Ministry of India organized a Christmas celebration in Udupi District prison at Hiriyadka on 28 December, 2023.
Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Mr Siddaram B. Patil, Jail Superintendent, Hiriyadka, Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto, Spiritual Director of Prison Ministry, Udupi Diocese, Mr Rosario D’Souza, Coordinator of Prison Ministry, Udupi Diocese, Br Derick Mascarenhas, Mr Gratian Bothello, Member, Mr Walter Martis, President SVP Central Council, Udupi Diocese were present on the dias.
Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo delivered the Christmas message. Br Derick Mascarenhas, Mr Siddaram B. Patil and Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto too spoke on the occasion. Mr Dolphy Mascarenhas and his family sang the Christmas Carols and the Students of Pallotti Convent presented a Christmas Tableau.
Many members of the Prison Ministry of India, Udupi Diocesan Unit were present on the occasion. Mr Rosario D’Souza welcomed the gathering and Mr Walter Martis proposed the vote of thanks. Mr Gratian Bothello compEred the programme. After the programme Christmas sweets and chocolates were distributed to the inmates.
