Christmas was celebrated with due fervor and enthusiasm at Milagres Cathedral Church, Kallianpur.
Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese celebrated the Solemn Holy Eucharist at the Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur along with V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Rev. Fr Joy Andrade Asst. Parish Priest and Rev. Fr Ronson D’Souza, Superior Holy Cross Students Home Katapadi.
In his homily, Bishop Gerald said, “The Christmas is festival of peace. This universal feast motivates us to become instruments and ambassadors of peace and harmony in the world which at present is witnessing a lot of hatred, violence and animosity. If the flame of love is to shine then we should be like Christ spreading love and peace everywhere.
Jesus, who was born two thousand years ago, preached that God is love. He showed that God is in our midst. He taught that humility is essential to receive God’s love. Selfless love is giving everything without holding anything back. Christmas is a great occasion which reminds us of the selfless love of God”.
V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca thanked to sponsors and donors. After the mass YCS members Conducted Christmas Programme. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo, V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca, Rev. Fr Joy Andrade and Rev. Fr Ronson D’Souza joined to cut the Christmas cake and shared the joy of Christmas with everyone present.
