The faithful of St Pius X Church, Piusnagar, Relatives and Friends of Rev. Dr Alphonsus D’Lima gathered together for a Thanksgiving Eucharist on the occasion of his Golden Jubilee of Priesthood on 31st May 2023.
Rev. Dr Alphonsus offered the thanksgiving Mass along with V. Rev. Fr Stany Tauro, Dean of Kundapur Deanery; V. Rev. Fr Harold Pereira, Director, ‘Anugraha’ Pastoral Centre of Udupi Diocese; Rev. Fr Albert Crasta, Parish Priest of Piusnagar Church and 5 priests.V. Rev. Fr Harold Pereira preached a meaningful homily on priesthood.
Rev. Dr Alphonsus thanked God for the precious gift of life and for the gift of 50 years of Priesthood. He thanked God for the blessings he received from his loving family, friends and relatives. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese was present for the Eucharistic celebration.
Later, a felicitation program was organized by the family members to make the Jubilee of their Priest a memorable one. The programme began with welcome dance by children of the parish. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Rev. Dr Alphonsus D’Lima, Rev. Fr Stany Tauro, Rev. Fr Albert Crasta, Wilfred D’Lima, brother of Rev. Dr Alphonsus D’Lima were present on the dias.
Rev. Dr Alphonsus cut the golden jubilee cake. Rev. Fr Albert Crasta raised the toast and wished health and happiness to Rev. Dr Alphonsus D’Lima. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese congratulated V. Rev. Fr Alphonsus and felicitated him on behalf of Udupi Diocese. Rev. Dr Alphonsus was also felicitated by Parishioners and family members.
Rev. Dr Alphonsus expressed his feelings and thanked all those who supported and helped to make the program a memorable one. It was a day filled with feelings of gratitude, happiness and joy. The presence and participation of the parishioners, relatives and friends was commendable.
Mr Rolfy D’Lima welcomed the gathering and Mr Wilfy D’Lima proposed the vote of thanks. Rev. Fr Cyril Lobo, Director of Divya Jyothi compered the programme.
