Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese blessed the new belfry at Sacred Heart Church, Kolalgiri on 16th May, 2023.
V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca, Rector of Milagres Cathedral and Dean of Kallianpur Deanery inaugurated the new Belfry. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo conducted the prayer service and blessed the new Belfry with holy water. Rev. Dr Anil Castelino, Parish Priest of Kolalgiri Parish rang the bell.
After the inauguration, felicitation programme was held at church premises. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo; V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca; Rev. Fr Anil Castelino; Rev. Fr Peter Fernandes OP; Sr Joyline, Superior of Christa Jyothi Convent, Kolalgiri; Mr Ashwin Pasanha Roch, Vice-President of Parish Pastoral Council; Mr Roshan D’Souza, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Queenly Mary D’Souza, Co-ordinator of 20 commotions were present on the dias.
All the donors, architect, engineer, sponsors, Previous and present vice presidents, secretaries and commission’s co-ordinators were felicitated on this occasion. V. Rev. Valerian Mendonca and Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo congratulated and appreciated Rev. Dr Anil Castelino and Kolalgiri parishioners. Parishioners felicitated Rev. Fr Anil Castelino as a gesture of gratitude for his service to the parish.
Rev. Dr Anil Castelino welcomed the gathering and proposed vote of thanks. Mr Derick Mascarenhas compered the programme.
