The Bishop of Udupi, Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo was on Pastoral Visit to St Lawrence Church Moodubelle from 21st to 23rd October, 2022. Rev. Fr George D’Souza, the Parish Priest of Moodubelle; Rev. Fr Pradeep Cardoza, Asst. Parish Priest and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to Bishop.
After the preliminary rites, the Bishop visited the cemetery and conducted prayer service. The Bishop had a session on Catechism for the Confirmation children. Then He interacted with the Parish finance committee members.
On 22ndmorning the Bishop celebrated the holy Eucharist at Loretto convent Moodubelle followed by visit to the sick people. He also paid visit to St Lawrence School and St Lawrence PU College and interacted with the students. He also addressed the teachers and staff members of school and PU College. Later He had meeting with Altar Boys. Bishop celebrated Mass in the Church. After the mass he had meeting with Parish Pastoral Council with 20 commissions’ animators.
On 23rd October, the Confirmation Mass was celebrated with great joy. 98 children received the Sacrament of Confirmation. In his homily, the bishop emphasised on the importance of family life.
After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz.; ICYM; YCS; Catholic Sabha; SFO; Legion of Mary, SVP, Sthree Sanghatan members. He also attended the Small Christian Community meeting in one of the wards.The Pastoral Visit concluded on Monday 23rd with a Prayer Service.
