The Bishop of Udupi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo visited Infant Jesus Church, Pilar from 27th and 28th August, 2022. Rev. Fr John Alfred Barboza, Parish Priest of Pilar Parish, Rev. Fr Mark, Br Steevan Rodrigues and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him.
After the preliminary rites, the Bishop visited the cemetery and conducted the prayer service. The Bishop had a session on Catechism for the Confirmation children. Later He interacted with the parish finance committee members.
On 28th August, the Confirmation Mass was celebrated with great joy. 23 children were administered the Sacrament of Confirmation. In his homily, the Bishop preached on the importance of family life.
After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz. Altar Boys; Sthree Sanghatan; Catholic Sabha; SFO; Legion of Mary, SVP and Parish Pastoral Council with 20 commissions’ animators. He also attended the Small Christian Community meeting in one of the wards at Pilar.The Pastoral Visit concluded on Sunday 28th with a Prayer Service.
