The Bishop of Udupi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo visited St Antony Church Sastan from 10th to 12th June, 2022. Rev. Fr Sunil D’Silva, Parish Priest of Sastan Parish and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him.
After the preliminary rites, the Bishop visited St Antony School, addressed the assembly and interacted with the students. He addressed the staff. Bishop visited the sick and gave them communion. Then series of meetings were held: Altar Boys; Sthree Sanghatan; Parish Pastoral council, 20 commissions’ convenors and Parish finance committee members.
On 12th June, the Mass was celebrated with great joy. In his homily during the Mass, the Bishop preached on the importance of family life. After the mass he visited the cemetery for prayer service.
Soon after the Bishop celebrated mass for the children. After the mass Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz. ICYM; YCS; Catholic Sabha; SFO; Legion of Mary, SVP. He also attended the Small Christian Community meeting in one of the wards. The Pastoral Visit concluded on Sunday 12th with a Prayer Service.
