Ecumenical Prayer meeting for the priests and the pastors of Udupi region was held on 4th April, 2022 at Asha Nilaya.
This prayer meeting was organized by United Christian Forum of Udupi District and Headed by Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi. Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao, Bishop of Shimoga preached on ‘Unity among Christians’ (John 17:11). He also gave keynote address on Importance of Ecumenical movement in the present context and how unity can be achieved. Rev. Dr. Sandeep Theophil, Professor at Karnataka Theological College, Mangalore gave his message on ‘Cross and the Discipleship’. Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo in his message gave a clarion call to all the priests and the pastors to make use of opportunities to come together in the places where they serve.
Rev. Ivan Soans, Udupi Region CSI Chairman, welcomed the gathering. Rev Fr. Harold Pereira, Director of Pastoral Commissions, Udupi Diocese compeered the programme. Rev. Praveen Maben introduced the speakers. Rev Fr. Royson Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks. Rev Edwin Joseph and Rev Shashikala conducted the prayers. Management Committee of Asha Nilaya, School for the differently abled children made physical arrangements.
