It was a joyful occasion for the parishioners of St Pius X Parish when the Bishop of Udupi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo visited them from 5th and 6th March, 2022. Rev. Dr Roque D’Souza Parish Priest of Palimar Parish and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him on 5th evening.
After the preliminary rites in the Church the Bishop visited the cemetery for prayer service. The Bishop had a session on Catechism for the Confirmation children.Then the bishop had meeting with finance committee members.
On 6th March, the Confirmation Mass was celebrated with great joy. 20 children were administered the Sacrament of Confirmation. In his homily during the Mass, the bishop preached on the importance of family life.
After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz, Altar Boys; Sthree Sanghatan; Catholic Sabha; SFO; Legion of Mary; SVP and Parish Pastoral council. After the meeting Bishop visited St Joseph’s Home for the Aged. The Pastoral Visit concluded on Sunday 6th with a Prayer Service, after which the Bishop returned to the Bishop’s House.
