On 9th July Udupi Diocese received two Oxygen Concentrators donated by Caritas India which in turn received it from Caritas Germany. Bishop Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo received the Oxygen Concentrators and handed it over to Sampada Director Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto, for the use of needy people of the District.
Rev. Fr Romeo Lewis, Diocesan estate Manager, Caritas Volunteers and Sampada staff were present for this programme. These concentrators will be in the custody of Sampada for the purpose of using it for home based or community based care of Covid patients as per the need and requirement. This arrangement is seen as a preparedness measure of home-based support, in the event of shortage of oxygen for the patients at home. The Sampada Caritas Covid Volunteers will help the needy in this regard.
