The Udupi Diocese Communication Centre under the auspices of the Diocese of Udupi in association with Big J Cable TV Channel launched “DIVYAVANI” Kannada word of God TV programme at Bishop’s House on Pentecost Sunday 15 May 2016.
The programme started with prayer song by Choir group of Udupi Church. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Mr Prashanth Jathanna, Director Big J TV Channel and V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca, Director of Udupi Diocese Communication Centre were present on the dais.
V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca welcomed the gathering and explain the objectives of the programme.
Bishop launched the “DIVYAVANI” programme by pressing the la and addressed the gathering and lauded the efforts and selfless service of Prashanth Jathanna, in spreading God’s message through the channel. In today’s world the television media has a special role to play. It not only spreads news but also acts as a means of transforming people’s lives. Divya vani programme aims at spreading the word of God to the people. Bishop honoured Prashanth Jathanna and Vinod Gangolli, the Director of Divyavani on the occasion.
The “DIVYAVANI” programme is scheduled to telecast every week on Tuesday and Saturday evening from 7 pm to 7.30 pm in Big J Channel. The programme is aimed at listening to the word of God and fostering universal brotherhood. The first episode will be telecast on Tuesday May 17.
Rev. Fr Chetan Lobo compered the programme and delivered the vote of thanks.
