Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo, Bishop of Udupi, had his Pastoral Visit to Holy Rosary Church, Kundapur from 10th to 12th June, 2023. V. Rev. Fr Stany Tauro, Parish Priest of Kundapur church; Rev. Fr Ashwin Aranha, Asst. Parish Priest of Kundapur Church and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to the Bishop.
After the preliminary rites, the Bishop visited the cemetery and conducted prayer service. Bishop conducted Catechism on Sacrament of Confirmation for the 35 candidates of the parish who were to receive the Sacrament. Then He interacted with the Parish finance committee members.
On 11th June, the Holy Eucharist was celebrated with great joy and 35 children were conferred with the Sacrament of Confirmation. In his homily, the Bishop emphasized on the importance of family life.
After the Mass, the Bishop had series of meetings with several groups, viz.; Missionary Children’s Association; Altar Boys; ICYM; YCS; Catholic Sabha; SFO; Legion of Mary, SVP, SthreeSanghatan. He also attended the Small Christian Community meeting in one of the wards.
On 12th morning the Bishop celebrated the Holy Eucharist at St Joseph’s Convent Kundapur. Later he visited the sick. He also paid visit to Holy Rosary, St Joseph and St Maris Educational Institutions. Bishop interacted with the children and there he addressed the teachers and staff members of the school. In the afternoon Bishop had the meeting with the members of Parish Pastoral Council with Pastoral commissions’ animators. The Pastoral Visit concluded on Monday 12th with a Prayer Service.
