The first meeting of the newly appointed Parish Conveners of the Commission for Inter-religious Dialogue was held at Bishop’s House on March 28, 2017. The meeting began with the prayer service led by the Director of the Commission for Inter-Religious Dialogue, Rev. Fr. Louis D’sa. He also welcomed the Bishop of Udupi, Most Rev. Gerald Lobo and the Diocesan Coordinator for 18 Commissions, Rev. Fr. Harold Pereira.
Rev. Fr. Harold Pereira asked the participants to introduce themselves. The Bishop explained the need to hold dialogue with people of other religions. He also made a power point presentation on the diocesan pastoral plan and the achievements of last two years. He asked the Conveners to take the lead in establishing a Souharda committee in every parish and to celebrate at least one festival together with other religions. Fr. Louis D’sa asked the Conveners to send the report to Bishop’s House in time. He also proposed the vote of thanks. 39 members were present for the meeting.
