It was a joyful and memorable event for the parishioners of Christ King Church, Trasi when their shepherd the Bishop of Udupi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo visited them from 04th to 06th of May, 2019. Rev. Fr Charles Lewis, the Parish Priest and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him on 04th evening. The preliminary rites in the Church were followed by visit to the cemetery.
The Bishop had a session on Catechism for the Confirmation children. This was followed by his meetings with YCS and ICYM.
On 05th May, the Confirmation Mass was celebrated with great joy. A total of 12 students were administered the Sacrament of Confirmation. In his homily during the Mass, the Bishop preached on the importance of family life.
After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz. Missionary Children’s Association; Altar Boys; Catholic Sabha; Sthree Sanghatan; Third Order; SVP and Finance Committee members. He spent time with the Sick in the parish.After that he attended the S.C.C. meeting in a ward. Bishop visited to Holy Cross Convent for adoration, Prayer, Rosary and thereafter interacted with Sisters.
On 06th the Bishop celebrated Mass in the Church. After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with 18 Commission animators and Coordinator.He concluded by summarizing the entire pastoral visit and left for Udupi at around 12:00 p.m.
