The Indian Postal Department released Post Card, special cover and Stamp on St Lawrence Minor Basilica at Attur, Karkala on January 18, 2018.
Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi; Mr. Shirthadi Rajendra Kumar, Postmaster General, Bangalore Southern Karnataka and V. Rev. Fr George D'Souza, Rector of St. Lawrence Minor Basilica were present on the occasion
Mr Shirthadi Rajendra Kumar along with Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo and Rev. Fr George D’Souza released the special cover and stamp. Philatelist and curator of Corporation Heritage Museum, Udupi, Mr M.K. Krishnayya, Mr. Shirthadi Rajendra Kumar and Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo spoke on this occasion. Mr Shirthadi Rajendra Kumar informed that it was for the first time ever that a stamp was being released on any a Church.
V. Rev. Fr George D'Souza welcomed the gathering. V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca proposed the vote of thanks and Rev. Fr Denis D'Sa compered the program.
