Kanajar May 27: Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of the Diocese of Udupi administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 90 Children of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kanajar. In his homily Bishop spoke about the importance of the sacrament of Confirmation in ones spiritual growth. He also said that the sacrament of confirmation sanctifies, empowers and prepares the faithful to face the spiritual challenges of life. The sacrament of Confirmation makes us the temples of the Holy Spirit. The Bishop also spoke on the 7 gifts and 12 fruits of the Holy Spirit which are gratuitous gifts of God to live a life of holiness. The Parish Priest of Kanajar Rev. Fr Alexander Lewis was present during the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration along with two other priests namely, fr Naresh and Fr Sunil. The children of 4th to 10th std were distributed 'Children's Bible' copies in order to inculcate in them the love for the Word of God.
