The Women of Karkal deanery celebrated the Women’s Day on 6th March 2018 at Miyar. The solemn Mass was concelebrated along with the bishop by Rev. Fr Sebastian Fernandes, V. Rev. Fr Joswey Fernandes, Rev. Fr Jerome Monteiro, Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto and Rev. Fr Mark D’Souza.

At the function which followed, Bishop of Diocese of Udupi, Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo presided over. The Spiritual Director of Women’s Association, Rev. Fr. Reginald Pinto; the Secretary of KROSS, Bengaluru, Rev. Fr Sebastian Fernandes; the Dean of Karkal Deanery, V. Rev. Fr Joswey Fernandes; the Parish Priest of Miyar, Rev. Fr Jerome Monteiro; the President of CRI, Rev. Fr Mark D’Souza; the Animator of KROSS, Belgaluru, Sr Zeeta; the President of Karkal Deanery Women Association, Ms. Gracia D’Souza; the President of Women’s Association, Udupi Diocese, Ms. Judith Fernandes and others were present on the dais. 

The Prayer Song was sung by Karkal Town Unit of Women’s Association. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo, Rev. Fr Sebastian Fernandes and the dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the “Arpana” Women’s Federation Karkala Taluk by lighting the lamp.

Ms Gracy Coelho of karkal deanery read out the annual report. Ms Leena Castelino from Nakre parish was felicitated by the dignitaries for the social work.

V. Rev. Fr Joswey Fernandes, Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto, Ms Judith Fernandes, Rev. Fr Sebastian Fernandes and Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo addressed the gathering on the occasion.

Ms Gracia D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Ms Leena Menezes proposed the vote of thanks and Ms Valeria Cutinha and Sr Nancy Salis compered the program. Fellowship meal was served to all those who attended the function.
