Udupi District Administration, Lions Club District 317 C, Udupi Diocese, Milagres Education Institutions jointly celebrated Environmental Conservation Day and Plants Distribution at Kallianpur on 18th August, 2018.
The program began with a prayer song by the Students of Milagres College. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese; Mngr. Baptist Menezes, Vicar General of Udupi Diocese; Dr. Tallur Shivaram Shetty, District Governor of Lions Club; Dr Neri Cornelio, Province President; Mr Prakash Chandra, Environmental Officer of Lions Club; Mr Sunil Kumar Shetty, PRO of Lions Club; V. Rev. Fr Lawrence C. D’Souza, Dean of Kallianpur Deanery; Mr Prakash Chandra, officer of forest Dept. and others were present on the dais.
V. Rev. Fr Lawrence C. D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The program was inaugurated by Most Rev. Gerald Lobo by planting a sapling. Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo, Tallur Shivaram Shetty addressed the gathering on this occasion. Mr Prakash Chandra took oath from the students to protect Environment. The program ended with national anthem. After the stage program, all children were given plants. Around 2,500 students were present on this occasion.
