It was a joyful and memorable event for the parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Perampally when their shepherd, The Bishop of Udupi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald  Lobo visited them from 11th to 13th of March, 2017. The Parish Priest and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him on 11th evening. The preliminary rite in the Church was followed by visit to the cemetery.

The Bishop had a Catechism session for the Confirmation children. This was followed by his meetings with Finance Committee members and the Parish Pastoral Council members.

On 12th  March Confirmation Solemn Mass was celebrated with great joy. A total of 33 students were administered the Sacrament of Confirmation. In his homily during the Mass, the Bishop preached on the importance of family life.

After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz. Altar Boys; Marian Sodality; Missionary Society of Children; YCS; I.C.Y.M; Stri Sangatan; Catechism Teachers; Catholic Sabha; and S.V.P. Members. He attended the S.C.C. meeting in a ward and visited the Trinity Vihar for Prayer and Adoration.

On 13th the Bishop celebrated Mass in the Convent and interacted with the Sisters. He also addressed the school children during their assembly. He then met with the S.C.C. Animators. He spent time with the Sick in the parish. He also had meeting with Legion of Mary, Secular Franciscan Order and the School Teachers. He concluded by summarising the entire pastoral visit and left for Udupi around 5:00 p.m.
