It was a joyful and memorable event for the parishioners of St Francis Xavier Church, Mudarangadi when their shepherd the Bishop of Udupi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo visited them from 27th to 29th October, 2018. Rev. Fr Francis Lewis, the Parish Priest; Rev. Fr Don Prem Lobo, Asst. Parish Priest and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him on 27th evening. The preliminary rites in the Church were followed by a visit to the cemetery.
This was followed by his meeting with the Altar Boys; Girls Sodality; Missionary Children; Finance Committee members; Pastoral Council; 18 Commissions’ Coordinator and Animators.
On 27th Oct, Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo Celebrated the mass along with Rev. Fr Francis Lewis and Rev. Fr Don Prem Lobo. In his homily during the Mass, the Bishop preached on the importance of family life.
After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz. Sthree Sangatan; Legion of Mary; Catholic Sabha; YCS; ICYM; SFO and SVP. He attended the S.C.C. meeting in a ward. He spent time with the Sick in the parish.
On 28th the Bishop celebrated Mass at Mary Immaculate Convent and interacted with Sisters. He visited the School and addressed the school children during the assembly. He had meeting with School teachers. The Pastoral visit concluded on Monday 28th with a Prayer Service, after which the Bishop returned to the Bishop’s House.
