Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo paid his official Pastoral Visit to the Parish Priest and the faithful of St Francis Xavier Church, Mudarangady from 26 to 28 September 2015. He initiated the Pastoral Visit with a prayer service in the church and later in the cemetery. Prayers were offered for the dear departed. After the prayer service, Bishop met the candidates of the sacrament Confirmation. Then, followed the meeting with the Parish Finance Committee, Parish Pastoral Council and 18 pastoral commissions.
Day two of the visit began with the Solemn Eucharist during which he catechized the children and the adults about the sacrament of Confirmation and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He administered the sacrament of Confirmation to 57 Children of the parish. The Parish Priest Fr Louis D’Sa and Fr Denis D’Souza were present during the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration. After the Mass he met the members of SVP, Marian Sodality, Altar Servers, YCS & ICYM. In the Afternoon, the bishop met the members of the Catholic Sabha, Women Commission, Family Commission and Legion of Mary. He also attended the SCC ward meeting in one of the wards of the parish, followed by visit to the sick.
The third day began with the Mass in the Convent. Then the bishop visited the Kannada Medium School, after which he attended English Medium school. Then, he met the members of Third Order. In the Afternoon, he met SCC, Bible, Catechetics, Liturgy and Education Commissions. Finally, on 28 August evening Bishop concluded his pastoral visit with a concluding prayer service.
