Udupi diocesan Family Commission ‘JIVIT’ organized Family day at Milagres Tri- Centenary hall on 13 February, 2018. The Programme began with a prayer service lead by a family along with Rev. Fr Harold Pereira.
In the short stage programme that followed Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi; Rev. Fr Chetan Lobo, Editor “Uzvaad” fortnightly; Rev. Fr Richard D’Souza, Director Social Communication Commission Mangalore Diocese; Rev. Fr Francis Cornelio, Parish Priest of Thottam and Director of Family Commission of Kallianpur Deanery; V. Rev. Fr Stany B. Lobo, Dean of Kallianpur Deanery; Rev. Fr Harold Pereira, Director of Small Christian Community Commission and Diocesan coordinator of 18 Commissions; Mr. Alphonse D’Costa, Secretary of Diocesan Pastoral Council and others were present on the dais.
Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo Inaugurated the programme by cutting the ribbon of the gate and a family entering through that gate to the dais. Rev. Fr Stany B. Lobo spoke on the occasion. Rev. Fr Richard D’Souza gave a presentation on Media & Family. Rev. Fr Chetan Lobo gave a talk on how Media can be controlled through self restraint.
The Bishop spoke on the family, how to use “please” “Sorry” and “Thank you” in daily life. He called upon the families to pray together, eat together and speak together.
Mr Leslie Arouza, Director Family Commission welcomed the gathering, compeered the programme and proposed vote of thanks. Fellowship meal was served to all those who attended the programme.
