It was a joyful and memorable event for the parishioners of St. Anne Church, Thottam when their shepherd, The Bishop of Udupi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo visited them from 08th to 10th of April, 2017. The Parish Priest and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him on 08th evening. The preliminary rite in the Church was followed by visit to the cemetery.

This was followed by meetings with Sthri Sangatan; Self-help Groups; Catholic Sabha; Finance Committee members and the Parish Pastoral Council members.

On 09th April Most Rev. Gerald Lobo celebrated the Palm Sunday Service. Solemn Mass was celebrated with great joy. In his homily during the Mass, the Bishop preached on the importance of the significance of Palm Sunday and the Passion of Christ.

After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz. 18 Commission Co-ordinators; Secular Franciscan Order; Couples for Christ; Catechism Teachers; Altar Boys; Missionary Society of Children; YCS and  I.C.Y.M Members. He attended the S.C.C. meeting in a ward.

On 10th the Bishop celebrated Mass in St. Anne Chapel. After the mass he visited to St. Anne Convent to interact with the Sisters. He spent time with the Sick in the parish. He also had meeting with Legion of Mary and S.V.P. Members. He concluded by summarising the entire pastoral visit with the Parish Priest and left for Udupi at 1.00 p.m.
